The setting is a tropical island somewhere in the Pacific Ocean during World War II. There are two relationships that drive the plotline. The first is between a lieutenant (Cable) and a young Polynesian girl (Liat), the fragile daughter of Bloody Mary, who tries to secure a husband for her daughter. The second occurs between a U.S. Navy nurse (Nellie) and a local plantation owner (Emile) whom she falls in love with. There are twists and turns and of course great songs to accompany the tense moments. Love and leaving, you’ll have to see the show to find out how the relationships evolve mixing cultures and backgrounds.
