Roxie gets a bitter taste of the criminal justice system when she is taken in by the other women in the county jail and hears their stories. The cast includes numerous women, but the one that presides over them all is Mama, whose system of mutual aid perfectly suits her clientele. Her women become front-page news, but compete to do so, buy vying for the attention of the limelight lawyer, Billy Flynn, who sings his theme “All I Care About” is love.

God of Carnage

The story begins with two sets of parents discussing a scuffle their children got into on the playground. Discussing the proper way to discipline the children, the couples exchange pleasantries accompanied by clichéd expressions. As the meeting progresses, diplomacy is tossed out the window, the rum flows, tensions emerge, and it becomes more of an argument than a discussion. Apparently one child hit another in the mouth with a stick, but will the parents ever agree on the correct way to teach their children to behave properly? The gloves come off and opinions slowly exposed in this play.

Winner of three Tony Awards, this show premiered in London and is making waves in the U.S. It won awards for Best Play, Best Leading Actress (Marcia Gay Harden), and Best Direction (Matthew Warchus). Hair on Broadway

The setting is New York’s Greenwich Village, in the late 1960s, the perfect scene for an “American tribal love-rock musical”. If you’re looking for Hair tickets, look no further. Galt MacDermot wrote the music for Hair. Because of his Cape Town University background and his history of studying music of the Bantu, Hair has a lot of African rhythms incorporated, noticeable in such numbers as “What a Piece of Work is Man” and “Ain’t Got No Grass.” MacDermot said when he thinks of rock & roll to him that translates to funk and that’s the style and sound that is evident in Hair, in such songs as “Colored Spade” and “Walking in Space.”

She charms them instantly with her singing and magic, not to mention the number of items she pulls out of her large bag that she carries. They go on adventure after adventure, diving into chalk paintings, laughing through tea parties, and even dancing on the rooftops with the chimney sweeps.

Mama Mia Tickets Are Irresistible!

The plot is centered on Donna, a single mother and owner of a small hotel on a fictitious Greek Island where her daughter, Sophie lives. Sophie is planning to get married to her handsome fiancé (Sky), but wishes that her unknown father would walk her down the aisle. After reading her mom’s diary (in secret, of course), Sophie finds three potential candidates that could be her dad and invites them all to her wedding, without telling her mom or fiancé. Sophie is convinced that once she sees him, she will know which one her real father is.

As the guests arrive, the next easy-listening ABBA song is never too far behind. Among the guests are Sophie’s friends and Donna’s two best friends from her younger days, who once made up the band, Donna and the Dynamos. Other guests include hotel staff and the young couple’s friends, creating a wide variety of songs. The production is memorable because the scenery and setting do not outshine the songs and singers. There are very slight changes with modest touches made to transition into production numbers smoothly.

Bouncing from song to song, Mama Mia has a light-hearted, arms waving in happiness feel to it. There are a number of different characters from all corners of the comedic spectrum and enough productions numbers to match; twenty-two ABBA hits total, grace the stage.
